eShakti Review + 3 Ways to Style a Jacket

eshakti review

I was emailed by a representative from recently, a website I had never heard of until then. They offer a wide range of pieces, from dresses to skirts to outwear, but what makes them unique is their custom ordering option. Instead of buying a garment as-is, eShakti offers pieces made-to-order based off of your measurements.

I have a particularly hard time purchasing coats off the rack due to my petite frame. It seems like the shoulder area is always too big and they look like I'm swimming in them. So when they offered to send me an item from their website, I thought a coat would be the perfect thing to try.

I was a bit scared to measure myself, but their website gives excellent instructions. I had my boyfriend help me and entering them in was a breeze. I expected a long wait due to the custom ordering process but my coat arrive less than two weeks later! Impressive.

I wanted to let it get chilly before I gave this an honest review, because I am very particular with my outerwear and I'm always cold. I live in Michigan, and autumn and winter is no joke! My coat is wool, and is of superb quality. Because of the length (which is customizable, by the way), almost my entire body is covered from the wind and cold, which is awesome. I wore this out in thirty-something degree weather last night and the only part of my body that was cold was my face!

Besides the warmth factor, I think it's the details that make this coat great. The pockets are huge - big enough for my wallet, keys, and a pair of gloves. I've become very no-frills lately and haven't been carrying a purse, so I love that. The buttons are good quality and seem sturdy. The only complaint I have is that there is no hood, but I don't think that's really standard on coats this style.

My measurements were pretty spot on, although the sleeves seem a bit long. Probably my fault, as I gave myself a bit of room to make sure I would be able to fit a big sweater underneath this.My waist has a lot of room too, but that works since the tie makes it easy to cinch the material in. Even though it looks fine, I recommend measuring a big tighter than I did.

Since this jacket will be on my body pretty much every day until spring, I thought I would post a video of a few ways to style it. I want to make this a recurring series on my channel, so if you have suggestions for specific "staple pieces" you'd like me to style, let me know!

This look is something I'd wear to work (I'd probably take off the hat) or on the town to hang out with friends. You'll have to watch the video (below) to see what I'm wearing on my bottom half.

This is a dressier look that I think works so nicely with this coat! There's something about a trench coat that just makes me feel so much more elegant.

I wanted to make sure I showed a casual look with this jacket, too. This is pretty much what I wear on a daily basis to class or to run errands. I think it adds some class to an otherwise boring outfit.

Watch all the looks in action and enjoy the music by the talented Kelly Latimore! My new fave.
