Lady Soma Skincare Review
Ladies and gents, today I bring you a skincare review featuring a new range of products from the brand Lady Soma. I recently was asked to try out* their Somaluxe collection featuring some interesting new goodies and after a testing period, I'm very excited to report back to you! This Skin & Nail Treatment was a really exciting find for me! Enriched with cocoa, shea, and kokum butters, this super thick and hydrating cream works wonders on lifeless winter cuticles. I've been using this before each manicure as well as in between polish changes to refresh my dry hands.
The Somaluxe Moisturizer is definitely too rich for my combination/oily skin as I feel a bit greasy after using it, but it works awesome on problem spots like elbows and knees. I'll have to experiment with this more throughout the winter as my skin gets painfully dry come January!
The Antioxidant Berry Masque smells so fruity, I almost wanted to eat it! Luckily it did its job as a skincare product, so I didn't dare do that! Ha. This is a nice rinse off mask that left my skin looking super hydrated and soft to the touch. I was a bit worried the potent scent might be irritating on my face, but it's been nothing but kind to my skin!
The Somaluxe Face Cleanser is a love/hate product for me. It cleared up my pimples almost immediately, it was like magic! I literally could not believe how fast they went away while using this stuff, but that doesn't come without a price! This stuff BURNS my eyes! I wish they would have come up with a formula that was a bit more gentle because it's impossible to use this without tearing up. I started to use it as more of a spot treatment so it was easier to remove with a wash cloth, avoiding the eyes, but if you just splash like normal to remove, you will regret it. I will definitely keep using this though, the application and removal just requires a bit of skill.
Luckily, I don't have any stretch marks so I can't really report on the Somaluxe Stretch Mark Treatment. The package did mention being a very hydrating cream though, so I used it on my heels and knees. This product has Vitamin E, Jojoba, and Tamanu Oils, making it a great product for dry spots. I may keep using it that way or donate it to a friend who needs it for its original purpose.
Overall, I was quite impressed with the quality of products from this brand, especially since they were relatively unknown to me before being contacted by them. The quality of the products were great for the price, despite a few drawbacks. Besides the fact that the cleanser was not quite as gentle on my eyes as I'd like, I'd also love to see their packaging jazzed up a bit. There's nothing wrong with the simplicity of the current packaging and the containers themselves seem to be sturdy and of good quality, but I'd love to see a bit more pizazz with the labeling!
