Miss USA is supposed to represent the United States of America, which as we all know, includes all races, genders, religions and sexual orientation. Do I want Miss USA to abandon her own personal convictions? Definitely not. Did Miss California answer the gay marriage question the way I would have? No, but I admire her for staying true to her beliefs.
She keeps talking about how that question cost her the crown, and yeah, maybe it did, but maybe someone who believes gays and lesbians do not deserve equal rights simply should not be Miss USA. I mean, could you imagine a self-proclaimed racist winning the crown?
