Trendage is a new app and website that combines the best of those worlds to create a fun, customized shopping experience. It's free, it's really helpful, and may be a little addicting, too.

Choose from a ton of different top, bottom, and dress options (they even have men's clothing...) and create an outfit you love. You can easily "try on" the pieces by placing them on the model, save your look for reference, or buy all the items you used. It's super easy and surprisingly a lot of fun. Since the app creators asked me for an honest review*, today I'll be running down the good, the bad, and the awesome parts of this app.

I love the concept in general. I, for one, am deathly afraid of color, and I also hate shopping at brick and mortar stores. This app makes it super easy to "try on" colorful pieces that I otherwise wouldn't, and I don't have to deal with the hustle and bustle of a real store. I also like the assortment of pieces, although they could be organized a little better. Polyvore, for example, has a search bar and more categories for the items. I think implementing something like this would make a world of a difference for Trendage.

Another thing that I'm not quite sold on yet is the model. She is the definition of a model. Stick thin, tall, and fair in complexion. Wouldn't it be cool if you could pick from an assortment of different body shapes, sizes, and colors? What if we could upload am image of our actual bodies? That'd be pretty 21st century, don't you think?

Overall though, I'm a little bit obsessed. I've been playing around with this for days and I can't stop. It's bringing me back to my younger days of dress up, except this app has a bit more of an adult edge. Give it a whirl, you'll probably really enjoy it.
