Walmart Beauty Box Unboxing & Review
I've been seeing the Walmart Beauty Box make its rounds in the YouTube beauty community and for only $5, I couldn't resist trying it out. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Walmart for a number of reasons but I'm a sucker for beauty samples, what can I say? (Not an excuse, I know.)
The box ships once per season, so this is considered the fall box. I like this idea because trying out a box full of products every month kind of seems a bit much to me, even though I am a beauty blogger. I can only imagine how overwhelming that must be for people who don't try out products for a living! This is a nice alternative to overloading yourself with unnecessary stuff.
The first thing I pulled out of the box was this Secret Clinical Strength Clear Gel in Completely Clean. I'm so excited about receiving this because it proves the value of the box. This is the only deodorant I use - I know a lot of people aren't fans of clear gels, but I find that they tend to make less of a mess and last all day. I just picked one up and for the same size, it cost well over $7. Pretty impressed with this product being included in the box!
I was less than impressed by the next product. What I didn't mention when explaining the box was that unlike Wantable or Beauty Box 5, there is no beauty profile to fill out when signing up. If there were one, I most definitely would not have received a shampoo and conditioner for fine, flat hair. Mine is anything but. I'll be putting these Dove Oxygen Moisture travel sizes away for a future giveaway or overnight guest.
On the other hand... this Dove Pure Care Dry Oil kind of made up for it. Made with African Macadamia Oil, this is sure to help soothe my dry scalp and brittle ends. I am a sucker for hair oils as they do wonders for my hair type. Really looking forward to trying this out.
Next up: a mini nail polish from CoverGirl. It's called a Glossy Days Glosstini in #GetGlowing, a sunny yellow color. Not exactly my style and not exactly appropriate for fall, but I might find it useful at some point since I don't own any yellow polishes.
They also included this L'Oreal Glossy Balm in Petite Plum, which is a lovely color for fall and winter. This is super moisturizing with just the right amount of shine. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it.
Finally, the little samples. I'm not complaining about these since they sent so many full and deluxe size products. I'm actually surprised they included the little foil samples and perfume bottle, as well. I'm excited to try the L'Oreal Youth Code Pore Vanisher since I've loved so many other products in that line. I'm not a huge fan of Nicki Minaj but her Pink Friday perfume does smell nice, and the Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup doesn't appear to have a color for me, so it might have to go to a friend.
Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with this box. For $5 (including shipping) this is an awesome deal. I love that it only ships four times a year and I also love the amount of full and deluxe size products they've included. I wish a beauty profile were part of the sign-up process, but for $20 for the entire year, you can't really complain. Shampoo is something that someone can always use so I'm not too mad about that.
What do you think? Have you tried this box? If not, let me know what your favorite beauty subscription box is!
