Just realized I haven't spent a full weekend at home in over a month. Traveling is oddly refreshing and totally freeing. Being away from my things has made me realize how much more simply I can (and probably should) be living. With that I bring you my lifeline: this here makeup bag.
To be honest, I use very few of these products when I'm on an overnight trip, but I'm a "just in case" kind of person. I like to pack enough and then some so I'm prepared for almost anything.
I like to keep my eyes fuss free. Eyeshadow is a pain to apply even at my vanity, and with any dramatic eye look comes the need for brushes, makeup remover, and primer. Instead, I just stick with my signature bold brow, lots of lashes, and winged liner if I'm feeling saucy.
Again, simplicity is key here. All of these products can be used alone or in combination with one another. J.Lo's nude is my holy grail nude lip color, Nude Beige is a lip liner that looks great on its own, and London is great for quick, casual looks.
I like to travel with BB cream since it packs multiple benefits in one little tube. SPF, primer, moisturizer, and coverage are all included in this one, which is a steal at only $6. I've tried many BB creams - from designer to drugstore, and e.l.f.'s is still my favorite. I feel totally incomplete without a little contouring (Chocolate Soleil is great for that), and concealer is my friend the morning after a long night. This powder isn't my favorite, but it does the job and is convenient to carry around. I prefer a translucent one for daily wear but they are no fun to travel with.
Makeup wipes are so important! No matter where I'm staying, I always take a second at night to take off my makeup to prevent breakouts and irritation around my eyes. These ones are super soft, never dry out, and are gentle enough for my picky skin. I also like to carry blotting papers for midday shine, a fragrance just because, and a handy mirror + brush combo for powdering my nose. This eau de toilette is cheap, so I don't mind if it breaks or gets lost and my compact brush works incredibly well for being affordable and multipurpose.
The bag itself is from pamelabarsky.com. I'm a little bit in love.
