I've eaten at a lot of restaurants since I moved to Detroit a year ago. Being the gluten-free goddess that I am, finding somewhere that offers me more than a pile of potatoes is always a challenge, but one that I've grown to love. I've been to Woodbrige Pub once sometime last year, but I didn't truly experience its magic until this weekend.
It was a very normal spring night and I wanted a very normal meal. Since I'm gluten-free and veg, I feel like it's hard to find good old comfort food sometimes, but Woodbridge Pub proved me totally wrong. Gluten-free bread wrapped the most perfect blend of cheeses for a good old American grilled cheese, and potatoes that were baked (not fried), gave me just the perfect amount of naughty without feeling too much like fast food.
And don't get me started on the lentil soup.
We sat outside, we parked for free, we had the most pleasant waiter we'd encountered in ages, and we left comfortably full without breaking the bank. If beer and cider is your jam, they have that too, and every item on the menu is marked for certain dietary restrictions (including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free...) which I SO appreciate.
Listen, we were so happy that we took a selfie. What??
